Workshop at Freeman’s College

On Tuesday 14 May Leicester Life Links were invited to give a talk on body image to staff members at the Leicester College Freeman’s park campus. The talk went really well and the staff members there really engaged with the session.

The talk itself firstly described what body image is, before focusing on the tensions that can arise when an individual’s current body image is not the same as their idealised body image. Participants were then encouraged to think about their positive qualities and self-compassion. This aimed to to show that their overall worth and value as a person, extends far beyond simply their physical appearance.

Here are some of the examples they gave:

“Being a good friend”

“Being a good listener”

“Happy go lucky”

Thanks to Freeman’s College for inviting us!
