World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is held annually on 10 October, it is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.
It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization that spans over 150 countries. On this day services come together to raise awareness of mental health and its major effects on peoples’ lives worldwide.
Each year there is a theme for World Mental Health Day. The theme for this year is Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention. Previous themes have been:
2018 Young people and mental health in a changing world
2017 Mental health in the workplace
