Life Links were thrilled to take part in Leicester Pride on the 1 September 2018. Attended by thousands, the day was fabulous! There was a wide variety of entertainment, including drag acts, dance performances, a children’s fun fair and a wonderful family-friendly atmosphere throughout.

Our team at Life Links were in Victoria Park to greet those who had been on the iconic Pride parade through Leicester City. Using our Pride wall, we were there to ask one simple question – “What makes you proud?” It was great to see so many of you taking part and we received an overwhelming response with roughly one hundred different answers. Take a look at just some of the quotes we received on this page, or download the whole lot here!

Alongside our Pride wall, we created chatterboxes to help get conversations going about Pride. Punters also had a go at guessing the weight of our rainbow sweet jar, with the closest guess taking the prize (the answer was in fact 2.1kg!)

We were really pleased to hear that many people have heard of Life Links and our services and just as pleased to tell people who hadn’t heard of us, all about the support we provide. We handed out leaflets, pens, keyrings and stress balls which were enjoyed by all.

Life Links would like to thank Leicester Pride for having us and give a special thanks to everyone that came to see us at our stall. You can find out more about the day’s festivities, including the parade and entertainment by visiting the official Facebook page here.

Richmond Fellowship is strongly committed to promoting equality and diversity across all of the communities we work with and here at Life Links  we are here to support you. We know that LGBT+ people are often exposed to stigma and that this can have a significant negative impact on their wellbeing. If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health or wellbeing, please get in touch today.

Please continue to stay strong, stay proud
