On the Thursday 16 May, Life Links delivered a workshop to a class at Leicester College, at St Margaret’s Campus. This was for Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme this year was body image. Therefore the workshop addressed what body image is, its contrast to the ‘ideal body’, and how we can focus on self-compassion to build our self-esteem around our body image.
The group took part in several activities aimed to identify personal strengths and abilities. Upon completing the work shop, the group explained that they now found it easier to think of qualities outside of their appearance.
Some of their answers included:
I am a good friend
I am good at making people laugh
I am good at football
Thank you for inviting us to Leicester College, it was lovely meeting you all!
