Life Links Link Up with Afro Innovation!

On Thursday 13 September, Life Links were invited to run a workshop at one of the fortnightly sessions that ‘Women Together’ host. The ‘Women Together’ project, run by the Afro Innovation Group, is attended by inspiring and welcoming migrant women who share their personal journeys as well as their skills with one another.

Staff from Life Links presented a workshop on emotional wellbeing to the group. This workshop included a presentation highlighting the different ways that we can maintain our wellbeing, as well as an interactive relaxation exercise and a positive thinking exercise. During group discussions, all women were enthusiastic in giving their personal examples of what they do to better their wellbeing, and what positive things had occurred for them during the week. The workshop was a great opportunity to create more awareness about mental health amongst a group of culturally diverse women.

Shante really enjoyed presenting on the day: –

“It was a lovely experience to present to the Women Together group, and to see that women from a multitude of backgrounds shared similar interests and ways of keeping their emotional wellbeing balanced.

Life Links would like to say a big thank you to Clandia at Afro Innovation for arranging the workshop and being so welcoming to us.

We look forward to working together again in the future!
