Life Links Celebrate the Festival of Life and Death

Life Links were honoured to attend Leicester City’s Festival of Life and Death at the Haymarket Theatre on September 8 2018. This was a wonderful opportunity to be a part of suicide awareness and to exhibit the kind of support we can offer to those who may be struggling.

There was a wonderful range of entertainment at the event, including singers, speeches and poetry. It was great to interact with others who were interested in our service! We had a wall asking individuals to write down “Positive reasons to live” and several people enjoyed writing one down and sticking it on. Individuals left our stall with more knowledge of our service, along with leaflets, pens, keyrings and stress balls!

Our staff member Aliyah was at the event and had nothing but praise for the festival:-

“It was heart warming to hear of people’s recovery stories during this event, and so being a recovery service, this a great event to go to! The event organiser, Alan Chapman, was also fantastic and his enthusiasm for this event was inspiring! I had a great time!”

Alan Chapman was also positive about the event:-

“Thank you for helping and being at FoLaD Haymarket Theatre. We’ve had really fabulous feedback. Lots of powerful effects and new connections made and still happening. I am so very grateful. Beyond words.”

Thank you to Alan and everybody else for having us. It was great to promote reasons for living!
