Life Links attends ‘A place to grow’

On a warm, sunny day on Saturday 11 August, Lifelinks were delighted to attend ‘A place to grow’, an open day at the community garden site in Enderby.

We were given a stand to set up alongside other organisations who were promoting their services. Throughout the day, numerous people of all ages came up to us wanting to find out more about Lifelinks and the services we offer, which we happily explained and provided them with leaflets for further information.  In line with the theme of the event: ‘A place to grow’, which centred around  promoting positive health and wellbeing through growing and eating healthy food, we designed an activity where participants had to  guess which foods had been linked with improving certain mental health issues. This activity went down really well and attracted lots of participants who attempted to guess the correct links and subsequently promoted further discussions on the importance of a balanced diet in creating and sustaining healthy mental wellbeing.

Overall the day was great fun and enjoyed by all. Hopefully  those who attended now know a little bit more about the links between food and mental health, as well as being aware of our service if  they or a  are ever in need of support around any issues that they may be facing.

Thanks to all who came to the event. We hope to see you in the future!
