Strides! Recovery Education Workshop
On Wednesday 22 May, we had the pleasure of delivering a stand alone recovery education workshop surrounding Mindfulness and in particular- sensory grounding to ‘Strides!’ This group have experience of mental ill-health and they come together on a weekly basis to participate in a variety of activities to help each other meet new challenges, gain confidence and lead independent and fulfilling lives.
The group were very engaged as we delivered an interactive session which included smelling fresh mint and tasting lemons to ‘ground’ us in the present moment. Steve- one of our volunteers co-delivered the workshop and stated
“I really enjoyed delivering this workshop, I have assisted with various ones but this was my first experience of presenting part of the presentation. The group were really welcoming and appeared to thoroughly enjoy it. Thank you Strides!”
